The road to true happiness

Follow the footsteps of millions of happy people.  Join a movement that brings happiness to everyone since 1850! In prior posts I have mentioned sharing and caring about other people so naturally, the movement that I’m talking about is socialism. For all of the brainwashed and liberal Americans out there, I’m NOT talking about communism. Social democrats want to make the differences between rich and poor smaller by parliament and NOT by a revolution.

I’m not saying that liberals aren’t happy but if you take a look at the move A Christmas carol, you see that after Scrooge shared his money and made OTHER people happy with it, HE became happy himself. This was a socialist action so therefore the movie shows that socialism can make you happier.

Secondly, the most important goal of socialism is to satisfy needs. I believe this is better than the liberal idea of having the market to ‘’enslave’’ the mass. I also believe in a large government with influence AND responsibility because companies often don’t think about the wealth its consumers.

If you believe in sharing and satisfying needs, or you think that nationalism is a treat to everything that is beautiful on this needle in the sky, vote for socialists. So for those who live in the U.S. VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS because that is the only socialist party in America. Luckily in Europe the amount of socialist parties is a lot bigger.

The science behind happiness C8H11NO2

2-(3,4-dihydroxyfenyl)ethaanamine I guess this name still doesn’t ring any bells. It is a white powder that can be dissolved in water easily. Most people know the substance as dopamine. Still there are a lot of people who still don’t know the substance although we’ve all felt its positive effects.

If you’ve ever wondered why you got such an amazing feeling of content after achieving your goal, this substance is your answer. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that causes happy feelings. And since this blog is dedicated to nothing but happiness, dopamine also deserves to be mentioned.

It is interesting to know WHY you feel happy (at least I think so) but it’s also important to know HOW to release dopamine! Of course this is different for each individual although there are some general things that work for each individual.  Well, you can also do drugs and drink alcohol and gamble etc. but I don’t really think this is such a good idea because even though you might get a shot of dopamine you’re future life will be pretty much fucked up…

Unfortunately there is no way to inject the dopamine because it is a neurotransmitter that is only present at places where you’re nerves reach each other. So keep setting goals for yourself (that you can actually achieve) and don’t do drugs and stuff because in the long term, it will only get you down

Sharing is awsomeee

Hey people,

Today the topic will be the importance of sharing. One week before the Christmas holiday I had an awesome experience with sharing. In a free period I went to the super market where I bought a lot of food. When I arrived at school and started sharing, the smiles on the faces of my fellow students were heartwarming. When they were going to pay me for the food they got I said: ''The smiles on your faces are my payment.''

This story inspired me to write a blog about why sharing is sooooo awesome. To show the importance of sharing, we must answer the question ''what is the most important thing in life.'' The answer for me would be happiness. If you agree, sharing wil help you reach your goals in life. When you have the money, but only spend it on yourself, you might feel happy, but it is scientifically proven that making other people happy gives you the most happiness yourself! I felt this when I shared my food and i'm sure that you will feel it to when you share.

AND, if everybody shares, you also get things from others. In that way we take care of each other and not of ourselves.

So go out, and share!

10 things we should do more often

I was browsing through youtube lately and I found an amazing video. It features a kid who made a list of 20 things we sould say more often. This list includes polite things like: say thank you, excuse me and I’m sorry but it also menitions funny phrases such as: ‘’Here is a suprise corndog I bought you because you’re my friend’’ and ‘’you’re so awsome I named my dog after you.’’

This kid is soooooo cute and extremely positive. Next to that, he also makes a great point. He shows us that WE should be nice to each other and positive as well.

This kid has inspired me to make a list of my own. 10 things we should DO more often!

(Please note that the things are in a random order, therefore number one isn’t the most important thing)

1.     Skip (if you don’t know why, you should check out my previous blog post)
2.     Be polite! Nowadays, when you’re being polite, people immediately think you’re hitting on them! We should make being polite a standard, not an exception.
3.     Give presents! Because everybody likes to get presents. And if everybody gives presents, you get presents too!! #winwinsituation
4.     Don’t hate! Hating is the worst thing you can do. It’s okay to not like someone because you just can’t get along with everydody, but hating is defined as wishing someone dead so don’t do that!
5.     Don’t judge people on their background. Judge them on what they want to accomplish.
6.     Don’t be afraid to dream. Dreams power innovation. If nobody dreamt of flying, we wouldn’t have had airplanes!
7.     Smile. People who smile not only live longer, but also live happier.
8.     Ask for help when you need it. Don’t pretend to be okay (so in this case smiling wouldn’t be the best advice.) Sometimes you just can’t solve things alone and it’s okay to ask for help!
9.     Know that you’re important! Anyone can make a difference in this world. Weather that is on a small scale, in a small community, or on a large scale, such as Nelson Mandela, making a difference is always significant!
10. Just dance and sing! ;)

Jolly jumping

Why do we walk or run while we can skip?
This question has been terrorizing my thoughts for the past week. Let me introduce the problem. I've noticed that I have a sudden urge to skip when I'm done with working or school. When I do so, people give me weird looks! Why isn't it socially accepted to skip (To move by hopping on one foot and then the other, i'm not talking about skipping class) around instead of walking? If you look at skipping objectively it only has advantages.

The first advantage is a very obvious one. It just looks so much more cheerful. There are just a few things important in life and one of them is happiness. Therefore skipping would help reach important goals in life.

Secondly, it's healthier. While you're skipping, you burn more calories than while you're walking. Who doesn't want to lose weight while having fun and creating a jolly atmosphere around you! In a world where everybody is increasingly gaining weight, skipping could have awesome effects on everybody.

As you can see skipping is such a positive phenomena! The only problem that remains is the fact that it isn't socially accepted. Do you consider it normal if children are skipping? I do, and so do most people. This tells us that we unlearn to skip. Once you're becoming an adult you're taught not to skip. It is something that children do, and adults are not children. This is a sad development that we should reverse. We need to make skipping the next hype.

So from this day on, try skipping to work. Set a good example for everyone to see. Change is never quickly achieved, therefore I don't expect this change to come in effect soon but we should start today, not tomorrow.
